There are moments in life when you realize that everything you have experienced—every challenge, every opportunity, every relationship, every success, and even every setback—has been preparing you for something greater.

Everything we have built, every person we have served, and every experience we have had has led us to this moment. ANCHOR Sober Living Center is more than a new project—it is a mission we believe can change lives and become a lasting legacy.

For Williamson, the desire to create a sober living community was planted years earlier during his time as an Assistant Director at the Atlanta Mission, serving at The Potter’s House. During that season, he had the privilege of working alongside hundreds of men who were facing some of the most difficult circumstances of their lives. He saw men arrive broken, discouraged, uncertain, and searching for hope. He witnessed the realities of addiction, homelessness, broken relationships, financial hardship, and the many challenges that can make rebuilding a life feel almost impossible.

But he also witnessed something equally powerful: transformation. He watched men begin to recover, regain confidence, restore relationships, find employment, develop healthy routines, discover purpose, and slowly begin to believe in themselves again.

Those experiences left a lasting impression on him. Williamson came to understand that recovery is about much more than simply stopping the behavior that caused destruction. Recovery is about learning how to live differently. It is about learning responsibility, rebuilding trust, developing healthy relationships, finding meaningful work, managing finances, establishing stability, and creating a future that is not controlled by the mistakes of the past. During that time, Williamson remembers telling himself, “One day, I want to build a sober living community.” He did not know when that day would come. He did not know where it would happen or what it would look like. He simply knew that the dream had been placed in his heart. Years later, that dream would become the foundation for ANCHOR.

Leaving treatment is a major accomplishment, but recovery does not end when treatment ends. Many men need a safe, structured, and supportive environment where they can continue building healthy routines, pursuing employment, rebuilding relationships, and preparing for independent living. That is why ANCHOR exists.

Our goal is not to provide treatment. Our goal is to provide the structure, accountability, stability, and support that help men put their recovery into action. We believe the pathway can be Treatment → ANCHOR → Employment → Stability → Independent Housing.

ANCHOR was created from a deep desire to help men move forward with purpose. We believe a person's past does not have to determine their future, and that with the right environment, accountability, opportunity, and support, people can rebuild their lives.

Now, we are asking our subscribers, friends, business network, community leaders, churches, organizations, and supporters to join us. We are seeking funding, mission-aligned partners, employers, mentors, and community organizations who believe in second chances and want to help us expand this work.
